Professor in the Department of Primary Care Medicine at Universiti Malaya and Chairperson of the Medical Research & Ethics Commitee MREC, UM. Prof Nik Sherina is also one of our MSH council member.
Prof Dr. Nik Sherina Haidi Hanafi is a Professor in the Department of Primary Care Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya and currently serves as Deputy Chairperson of the Faculty of Medicine. A specialist in primary care and family medicine with over 30 years of clinical and academic experience, Prof Hanafi completed her MBBS at Universiti Malaya in 1992, her MFamMed in 2000, and her PhD at Manchester University in 2009. She held the position of Head of the Department of Primary Care Medicine at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre from 2011 to 2023, overseeing extensive programs in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, curriculum development, and examination administration across Malaysian medical schools. Her significant research contributions in family medicine include supervising PhD and Masters students with a focus on primary care innovation and medical education research, while maintaining active involvement in national and international medical education bodies.
