Prof Dr. Imelda Balchin is a Clinical Professor at KPJ University College and Consultant Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with subspecialist credentials in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital 2. She previously served as Professor and Consultant at the University of Malaya from 2014 to 2019 and has established innovative clinical services including founding the Cervical Insufficiency Society Malaysia and establishing Malaysia's first dedicated Preterm Birth Prevention Clinic, both in 2022. Prof Balchin has authored over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, serves as a trainer in CTG Masterclasses across Malaysian hospitals and universities, and has peer-reviewed for the British Medical Journal and international journals. Her contributions to maternal-fetal medicine literature include co-authoring the National Clinical Practice Guideline on Diabetes in Pregnancy.
