Consultant cardiologist and head of the Clinical Research Centre at Sarawak Heart Centre, specializing in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, and biomarker research.
Dr. Alan Fong is a consultant cardiologist and head of the Clinical Research Centre at Sarawak Heart Centre in Kota Samarahan, with specialization in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, and biomarker research. Holding MBBS from the University of Bristol and fellowships from the American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology, and Japanese Circulation Society, he brings extensive international credentials. Since 2008, he has served as consultant cardiologist and interventionist with particular focus on acute coronary syndrome imaging and cardiovascular pharmacology. His leadership roles include clinical lead for the Coronary Care Unit (2011-2016) and current chair of the Governance Board for the Malaysian National Cardiovascular Disease Registry. He coordinates national and international multicentre clinical trials and serves as adjunct professor at both Swinburne University and University Malaysia Sarawak. His scholarly output exceeds 40 publications in international journals including the European Heart Journal, and he holds the position of current president of the National Heart Association of Malaysia while serving as board member of the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacology.
