Dato' Dr. Tunku Muzafar Shah bin Tunku Jaafar is a consultant in geriatrics and general medicine at Hospital Selayang and Royal Physician to the 14th King of Malaysia, with expertise in geriatric medicine, dementia, and hip fractures in elderly populations. Holding LRCPI&SI MB.BCh BAO from the National University of Ireland, MRCP (UK), Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Geriatrics and General Internal Medicine, and specialized diplomas in ageing health and evidence-based dementia management, he brings comprehensive credentials developed across four decades of clinical practice. Since 2005 he has served as consultant geriatrician and physician, and previously held the position of Clinical Lead at Medical Assessment Units in Wales (2005-2011) before serving as Royal Physician to the Malaysian King (2011-2016). Currently chair of the Subspecialty Subcommittee for Education in Geriatric Medicine, he has led in developing Malaysia's geriatric clinical guidelines and training standards while establishing a pilot orthogeriatric service at Selayang Hospital. His publications address fragility hip fractures, geriatric falls, statin-associated myopathy, and delirium management, with contributions to the Handbook of Geriatric Medicine and Malaysian clinical practice guidelines.
